Job Title: Accounting Manager Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our team. This role involves performing and reviewing monthly accounting close activities, collaborating with manufacturing sites, and managing inventory reporting and variance analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, internal controls, and SOX compliance. This is a hands-on role requiring active participation in data entries and other transactional tasks. Responsibilities + Perform and review monthly accounting close activities, including variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal entries. + Collaborate with manufacturing sites to analyze manufacturing variances, balance sheet reconciliations, and volume forecasts. + Consolidate and report site inventory balances by product/site, performing detailed variance analysis to identify discrepancies. + Participate in the annual standard costing process and manage ad hoc updates as required. + Handle quarterly SOX process certification, including compiling, sampling, and reviewing control documentation. + Prepare and review audit schedules, responding to complex questions from internal and external auditors. + Identify opportunities to streamline assigned processes and cross-train with peers. + Collaborate with stakeholders to implement continuous improvement opportunities for the accounting close process. + Manage special projects requiring Global Accounting representation, such as company expansion, business acquisitions, and financial system implementations. + Lead and manage the outsourced provider team to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting tasks. Essential Skills + B.S. degree in Accounting or related field. + 5-8+ years of experience in accounting, with cost accounting experience preferred. + Experience in inventory reporting and standard costing processes. + Hands-on experience with journal entries, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations. + Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP, but other large ERP systems are acceptable. + Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in cost accounting and working in a manufacturing environment. + Strong focus on internal controls and experience with quarterly SOX process certification. + Ability to prepare and review audit schedules and respond to complex auditor questions. + Experience managing special projects related to global accounting. + Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and cross-train with peers. Work Environment This position is 100% remote, working with a global team. The role requires adherence to EST deadlines and may require flexibility in meeting times to accommodate different time zones. The month-end close spans four days and this manager will have no direct reports. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $52.00/hr.
