Your Mission

Keep a high-performance manufacturing environment running at its best. In this role, you’ll safeguard the reliability, appearance, and safety of our buildings, equipment, and workspaces—directly enabling JEM to deliver innovative, high-quality fluid power solutions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

1. Own the facilities request queue—triage, prioritize, and execute with urgency while representing JEM and Operations with professionalism.
2. Conduct routine inspections of building interiors/exteriors and production assets; identify and resolve maintenance needs.
3. Clean machining equipment using proper solvents, cloths, vacuums, and related tools.
4. Deliver minor HVAC service; complete painting, basic carpentry, and masonry projects.
5. Perform electrical maintenance (replace/repair fixtures) and plumbing repairs (resolve leaking faucets and related issues).
6. Coordinate routine and emergency services with electricians, plumbers, and other contractors.
7. Install modular offices and maintain office furniture to support team growth and reconfiguration.
8. Operate and maintain hand, power, and specialty tools safely; model best practices.
9. Maintain parts and supplies inventory; purchase tools/hardware/supplies within budget through local vendors or JEM purchasing.
10. Provide winter snow removal and salt application at facility access points.
11. Serve as a key member of the Safety Committee; provide safety updates and training to associates as needed.
12. Lead continuous improvement efforts across facilities maintenance.
13. Operate a forklift safely and keep certification current.
14. Comply with all JEM policies and procedures, including ISO, OSHA, and AWAIR requirements.
15. Support JEM’s mission and live our core values daily; maintain regular, predictable attendance; and take on other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• 1–2 years of related experience or a comparable mix of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Forklift certification (maintained/current or acquired upon hire).

Core Competencies

• Mechanical troubleshooting and pneumatics troubleshooting.
• Machine safety inspections and a proactive safety mindset.
• Experience around VFDs, PLCs, conveyor systems, and servo motors.

Working Conditions

You may encounter wet/humid (non-weather) conditions; moving mechanical parts; heights; fumes/airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. Typical noise level is moderately loud.

Physical Requirements

Regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs.; frequently up to 25 lbs.; occasionally up to 50 lbs. Vision needs include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception. You’ll routinely stand, walk, reach, and use hands while communicating clearly; occasionally you’ll sit, climb/balance, and stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl.
