Job Description

This respected, patient-centered hospital is seeking a Hospital Pharmacist for an exceptional opportunity to deliver safe, high-impact care across a busy inpatient setting. The Hospital Pharmacist role is ideal for a collaborative clinician who is passionate about optimizing therapies and mentoring a supportive team.

At this approximately 250+ bed, not-for-profit, Joint Commission–accredited hospital, the Hospital Pharmacist will contribute to a culture of safety, stewardship, and continuous improvement. The organization features USP <797>/<800>-compliant cleanrooms, bedside barcode medication administration, decentralized clinical coverage, and a fully integrated EHR with automated dispensing technology. Recognitions for patient safety and specialty program quality reflect the hospital’s commitment to evidence-based care, where a Hospital Pharmacist plays a pivotal role in outcomes.

The Hospital Pharmacist reports to the Director of Pharmacy and collaborates with clinical pharmacy leaders for service line support. Pharmacy technicians, interns, and clerks align under the Hospital Pharmacist during assigned shifts to ensure safe, timely distribution and compounding. The Hospital Pharmacist works closely with physicians, nursing leadership, medication safety and antimicrobial stewardship teams, case management, and informatics to drive quality and efficiency.

The inpatient pharmacy supports round-the-clock services for medical-surgical, critical care, emergency, perioperative, and select oncology/infusion areas, where the Hospital Pharmacist helps manage a high, fast-paced order volume with a professional, team-first energy. This department operates 24/7 with a multidisciplinary model that includes decentralized rounding, sterile and non-sterile compounding, and cartless distribution supported by automation. The Hospital Pharmacist joins a cohesive group of experienced clinicians, technicians, and residents dedicated to safe transitions of care.

The Hospital Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care, including order verification and clinical interventions, pharmacokinetic dosing (e.g., vancomycin/aminoglycosides), anticoagulation management, antimicrobial stewardship support, code response, and patient/caregiver counseling. The Hospital Pharmacist mentors staff, advances clinical competencies, participates in education and policy development, and leads quality improvement initiatives. On the administrative side, the Hospital Pharmacist supports medication safety, formulary stewardship, inventory and automation oversight, staffing coordination, and operational workflows—and may assume essential responsibilities of the Director of Pharmacy in their absence.

Hospital Pharmacist Located in a sunny high-desert region with mountain backdrops, the area offers hiking, cycling, off-road adventures, and easy weekend escapes to forests, lakes, beaches, and ski slopes—perfect for a Hospital Pharmacist seeking balance and outdoor fun. A favorable cost of living relative to coastal metros, growing employment sectors, and family-friendly amenities make it attractive for long-term roots. Dining, local arts, community events, and stargazing nights create a vibrant lifestyle—while wide-open spaces mean room to breathe and grow. 🌄 The Hospital Pharmacist will enjoy a community that values both innovation and connection.

Hospital Pharmacist Competitive Compensation and Generous Benefits are offered for the Hospital Pharmacist, with growth opportunities to expand clinical impact and leadership. This Hospital Pharmacist will make a meaningful difference for a diverse patient population while shaping excellence in medication safety and therapeutic outcomes.
