TRAINING MANAGER – Food Manufacturing

Our client is a leading manufacturer of processed fruits and flavors sold into various segments of the food industry, including cultured yogurt and ice cream manufacturers, industrial bakeries, beverage manufacturers, and restaurant, dessert, and coffee chains. Based on growth, they are looking to add a TRAINING MANAGER to their plant located just South of Indianapolis in Greenwood, IN.
The Training Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing training programs for our employees in alignment with industry standards and company objectives. Critical to this role is a deep understanding of the Food Manufacturing environment and a passion for being hands-on and helping our team members be successful. This role is essential in assuring employee competency in their roles as well as evolving a high performance and flexible workforce to accommodate a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the training strategy & detailed training programs for various roles within the organization, focusing on Operations, Food Safety, and Quality standards
Coordinate and schedule training sessions, ensuring resources are available and logistics are managed effectively.
Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
Maintain training records and compliance documentation.
Develops measurement systems for the purpose of monitoring the effectiveness of training.
Monitor and assess employee performance post-training, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continually enhance training materials.
Facilitate onboarding for new employees, ensuring they understand company policies, safety practices, and their roles.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in food science, industrial engineering, or other related field.
Will consider non-degree candidate with exceptional skills.
5 years of experience in training and development, preferably in the food industry.
Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes including quality and operational efficiencies.
Strategic planning of comprehensive training program aligned with business objectives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to leadership and stakeholders on the effectiveness of the training management system, trends, risks & opportunities.
Ability to engage and motivate employees in the acquisition of knowledge & best practices, developing content and delivery in away that enables learning and continually develops to full competency.
Capable of building and sustaining a document & learning management.
Strong organizational & project management skills with attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
Internal Auditing including operational effectiveness, quality and environmental, health & safety
Certification in Food Safety and Training & Development.
Experience with e-learning platforms and digital training tools.
